Javon is #1
In 2017, up and coming chef Javon Cummins shot to fame when he emerged Pastry Chef of the Year at the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association's Taste of the Caribbean competition in Miami. Since then, he’s further risen to Head Chef at Tapestry Restaurant by Elegant Hotels and the awards just keep coming.
Still, it was a well-deserved surprise when his name was announced as the Golden Pineapple Judges’ Choice – 1st Place at the recently held Embassy Chef Challenge in Washington D.C. for his dish "Guava Brûlée Pork Belly."
The BTMI is proud to have worked with Javon over the years and to see his journey unfold. Especially in this, our 10th year of the Barbados Food and Rum Festival, we salute Javon and look forward to seeing much more from him in the future!
